nerd school

Takes Wabash off the list :D

Georgia Tech!

Not sure about all this. Harvey-Mudd has the rep but their parties are the best. Cal Tech and MIT, I'd agree. Stanford may actually win the prize though 'cause they are high on the nerd/dork/geek scale, but don't think they are. Take a tour there, they'll immediately tell you how "California cool" they are. LOL

Stanford is layed back though, they're beyond nerds because they have all these other gifts that hey bring with them, when you see a bunch of guys throwing frisbees in front of Ford and yelling "dude", you're not thinking nerds. Nerds may get into Stanford, but you will be doing a lot more than studying.

Could somebody talk about how Reed is a nerdy college?

Hey, kids at MIT throw frisbees and say "dude." But yeah, MIT and Caltech definitely win this one. They pride themselves on being nerdy.

Absolutely NOT trying to pick on Stanford, great, great school and all that, but my point above was that they do go out of their way there to let you know how cool they are, how laid back they are. Just my opinion, but don't think they are either and if they were, they wouldn't always be trying to sell it so hard.

As an aside, Their admissions staff always likes to tell the cute little analogy that Stanford is like a duck swimming in the water. Seemingly fairly effortless on the surface and paddling like heck under the surface.

putting on shorts and having sunshine is just the surface....

Northwestern University!

I'm sticking with the HMC=nerdy, I guess other places are nerdy too

For Canada anyways... Waterloo. Or so I've heard.

I seem MITs ultimte team practice, they are so constructive and uptight about the sport like it was a football game.

Comparethat to something like the Oberlin Flying Horsecows.

I imagine there will be a pretty good overlap between schools with lots of nerds and those that PR picks as schools whose students never stop studying:
