Nerds? Perhaps. Antisocial? Well...

A while ago I signed up to receive e-mail notices from a certain student organization at Chicago which will not be named at this point in time since I don't know how they'd feel about my publishing this e-mail. Most of the notices I receive are interesting, but the one I found today was something extra special.

[quote]
"This is my rifle, this is my gun…
This is for shooting, this is for fun"

Bacchanal TONIGHT at [location removed] in celebration of
spring, youth, and well, Friday. We'll bring the booze, you
bring the bodies and between three apartments and $1000 of
libations we’ll have ourselves one epic time.

Don't forget:

Who? you
Where? [location removed] enter through the back of the
building to get there, [directions removed].
What time? Party time

till then--

[name removed]

Nerdy to send out invites to a slammer via the Internet? Perhaps. Antisocial? Hardly.

Oh, and notice how even the invite screams Chicago. "Bacchanal," "libations," "epic:" I feel like I'm about to drink with Aenenas and Dido at some lavish Carthaginian mead hall rather than get wasted at some public-uni pukefest.

that's great. classic chicago.

Wow. Sounds like a fooking AWESOME place to be going to college.

Was this a frat? If not, what type of organization? Or is that... classified information?

Why, hello there, private message.
