Nerdy/STEM Housing @ UCB, UCLA, UCSB, UCI, and UCSC

Hey, everybody. I was wondering if there are any UC students or just people in general who know of the most academic residential halls at these universities: UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, and UC Santa Cruz.

For example, I know that Foothill at UC Berkeley is considered to be a residential hall for mainly nerds.

UCSB has housing available to College of Creative Studies (CCS) members. I would suppose that is pretty nerdy. Their FAQ says it is primarily CCS freshmen.

The housing website says there are Scholar’s floors at 5 dorms for Regent Scholars, Chancellor’s Scholars, and honors students. http://www.housing.ucsb.edu/residence-halls/living-learning-communities

I’ve heard that the FSSP students stay in their same dorm after summer (not so nerdy). I don’t know if the same is true of SIMS students, but, if so, that could be pretty nerdy.

Yes, UCSB FSSP students live in San Nicolas and stay in that dorm for the rest of the years. Scholars floor may be quieter, but not all kids on the floor requested to be on Scholars floor. CCS students have usually been in Manzanita which has traditionally been mostly non-first year students and has a reputation of being less social. Things may change a little this year because returning students were allowed to choose any dorm and not just San Raf or Manzanita.
