I know this may sound weird, but the guys in my dorm have gotten really into nerf guns. The consensus seems to be that kids have the best toys, middle-high schoolers hate them, and college students realize how awesome they are. I think this theory may have some merit, but i was wondering what you guys think.
Also, one of the main activities we do with the guns is modding (I go to a techie school so this makes nerf guns more interesting).

I know a good number of people at Purdue who mod their nerf guns also. It’s an Engineering school so not surprising. The positives of taking a wiring class…

I remember back when the revolver-style Nerf guns came out. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and tried to get a few other guys in my dorm to buy them. Nobody agreed it was neat. Two years later they all bought them.

At my school, toy guns are banned on campus. If you are caught on campus with one, it will be confiscated.

Are you sure that’s including Nerf guns? I mean, I understand stuff like airsoft and pellet guns as well as those look-alike ones that only have the orange indicator around the end of the barrel. I think a Nerf gun is probably more dangerous when used as a club than a projectile weapon.

Nerf guns are for amateurs :)

Son and friends used pvc to make nerf dart (blow) guns. Extremely accurate at 40 feet. Will raise a welt. Of course they modified the modificatons and came up with blow darts machine guns. About 12 inch to 18 inch length to start. End was modified so user could not suck dart into mouth. Probably all over the web. They even tooled the inside of the PVC. Oh, those engineering nerds…

oh, and wear safety goggles

I don’t know anyone that mods Nerf guns (but then again my school doesn’t have an engineering program), but every year during second semester someone organizes a huge assassins game and Nerf guns are the weapon of choice for that. They’re also just awesome to have around.

Well then carl you can be your groups hero. Go get a 1/2 inch diameter piece of pvc insert a nerf dart and pftttt…look around on line for all the modifications.

what is this I don’t even

haha that blow gun is sick. I think this article adequately sums up my feelings on the topic: [BSAT World : Blog - Naps, Nerf and Nickelodeon](http://www.bsatworld.com/blogPost/80/Naps%2C-Nerf-and-Nickelodeon)
