Hello everyone, i am new to the site and I feel very welcomed by the amount of advice given out. I applied november 30th for UT @ Austin, but im feeling very nervous about the whole situation. Wasn't quite a great student my sophomore and freshman years of high school, and im really bad at taking most forms of any Test ( I know the information and all but can't score great!).

What are the chances looking like for me to get into the University of Texas Austin in the Biomedical Engineering Major?

SAT: Just taken yesterday but have scores from my first test
(M- 590, CR- 560, W- 500)

Major : Biomedical Engineering

Current AP Classes: AP Statistics, Ap Biology

E.C
Football Team - 9th Grade
Basketball Team - (JV 11th Grade, Varsity 12th)
Sound Booth Technician @ My Church - 340+ Volunteer Hours
Volunteered for the Special Olympics in Austin,TX 2008

If Biomedical Engineering at UT is what you want to do, you can still do it. Like others said, it isn't going to happen right now. But as Rh mentioned, you can transfer in. Take 30 hours somewhere and show what you are capable of academically. After you have the college level credits, they won't care about your high school grades.

I have been ruined by my high school classes. They preach taking all these AP classes, and when its too much for you already hectic schedule (sports and church) it is hard to balance your schedule.

I am actually very smart, and great at math and science. My classes don't speak much for my intellectual ability. Nor do my SAT scores, I suck at testing. I cannot focus during long tests and what not.

My College Essays are really good. I hope they take that and my special circumstance of my father dying about 7 months ago from complication from heart surgery.

Could I go to UT Dallas for a year then transfer. Or would I need to go to a CAP school?

Fox, I'm not here for sarcasm or off-topic remarks.

I understand the importance of testing in college. I will be ready for the tests by then. I am not very good at time management and pacing during tests. I'm not retarded.
