Hi. I'm a sophomore in high school right now and I'm starting to worry a lot about getting into a GOOD college. I'm actually very smart but I have not been the best student. Last year (freshmen year), I did awful and probably got a GPA from 2.9-3.3. This year, I'm starting to do MUCH better and hoping for a 3.5-3.8 sophomore year. Let's say I keep up with the 3.5-3.8 range and do pretty well on my tests, will I still have a good chance at getting into a GOOD school such as Boston College? I feel like my freshmen year can very much hinder me, and I'm very nervous.

Next year or maybe even this year, I will start doing a lot of extra curricular activities, community service, etc.

I'm praying that I did not screw my self freshman year.

some colleges dont even consider your freshmen year, and they like to see and increase like you have. just keep that up. for a college like BC you will want good scores (30+, 2000+). are those gpas weighted? you should take ap and honors classes too, if you aren’t already.

I’m taking one AP class right now, and one honors class.
Next year, I hope to take all AP’s or Honors. (except maybe for spanish :P)

Focus your extra-curricular activities and volunteer work in an area that you really enjoy. Try to be a leader in that area as well. Not only is it fun, but it teaches you a great deal about work ethic.
