Nervous about not fitting in at an art school

Hi everyone,
I want to apply to some art schools for communications design. Ones that I've considered are Pratt, Parsons, SCAD, and FIT. But I am nervous about not fitting in and not finding a social group. I like to dress preppy.... (J. Crew, Vineyard Vines, Lilly... etc.) but overall I don't really have a preppy personality, I just like to look classy. Which doesn't quite fit the boho-artsy stereotype you expect to see in Art Schools. I live near Burlington, Vermont, I consider myself liberal, and I'm very used to the "hipster" community of Burlington and I don't dislike it. I'm not opposed to befriending certain types of people, I'm just worried they'll be opposed to befriending me!

But anyways, does anyone have any insight on this or the kinds of people who go to these schools?

PS. The girl who did my Pratt tour had giant hair, lots of piercings, and lots of eyeliner.. So maybe I just saw one extreme and I'm freaking out for no reason?

Every school has every sort of people. You will find people like you at any school you go to. So I would not worry about this.
