Nervous/Anxious Thread

heh.. its better than european history im sure.. yea euro is interesting.. but there are just too many kings barons popes.. blarg..

plus ive got an essay due tomorrow.. pretty easy subject though.. treaty of westphalia..

my teacher is crazy.. we just passed in an essay on friday about felipe ii!!.. sighh

our school doesnt even have AP history, cuz they're THINKING about an IB programme MAYBE, SOMETIME, in the next 5 years :(

im nervous as hell. i took the SAT IIs yesterday, Bio-E, Math IC, and Spanish with Listening. I have a recruit application, but the coach said that it all comes down to my SAT II scores and he said if i got 700s I'd be fine. pressure heh. I feel good about the bio since i only omitted three questions that i did not know out of the 80 and assuming i got all others correct that would be up in the 780-800 range. math ic omitted the 6 i did not know and going by the conversions that should be around the 720-730 range. spanish.....who knows but as long as i scored well on two of the sat IIs i should be fine....well hopefully

they expect everyone to get 700+ on SAT II's?

when i visited penn, the admissions officer who was speaking at the info session said that applicants should shoot for the 700s on SAT IIs.

they wanted me to get 700 range for a recruit.....so id expect for others....probably to be higher...since i heard the minimum for a recruit you have to get 1200 on the regular 1600

oh and the coach told me a story of how he had this one girl recruit....she had to get a 680 to get in and she took the sat ii subject and got a 690 so she got in.....so they must have some heavy weight

sorry mistake post.

which math did you take...i only took math i c....not 2...so its different

yea sorry, i was talkin math2.. even still 720-730 is a great score.

yeah if i only omitted 6 in math 2 that would just be sick

i wish i'd known last year that i wanted to go to penn. honestly, i hadn't really thought about it yet then, and so i didn't work as hard as i could have (damn ap calc bc and ap physics!) this year, when i learned more about penn, i was like "omg! i have to go there!" and now i'm totally in love with the school i'll never get into...>__< karma sucks....

hmm.. does anyone have the link to last years official acceptance / rejection thread?

this is the ED one:

this is the RD one:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=46693&highlight=official+accepted

thanks a bunch!

the ED decision thread is making me cry:(. I'll be inconsolable if I don't get in. It'll just be misery.

lol i hate seeing the posts in that thread that are like..

'rejected.. completely crushed'
'deferred.. why why why what do they want from me?'

eesh... whats worse is.. prospective whartonites seem to be taking the most hits.. aye.. i think im gonna cry on dec. 15

the ED decision thread is NOT helping my peace of mind....

one person's stats actually cheered me, but then i realized that they applied to the nursing school. no offense to the nursing school, but they get the least amount of applicants so it's not as competitive ~~ (i may be wrong...i dunno)

I know how depressing that thread is, but try to keep in mind that CC is not a representative sampling of Penn applicants, by any definition. And there is a huge gap between accepted and deferred applicants on that thread, leaving room for all kinds of things.

Yes, it's easier to get into nursing, but you must have a demonstrated interest according to extracurriculars, jobs etc. because they don't want people backdooring it to the college.
