Hey,

So I'm a freshman at high school, and I'm taking AP World History, Honors PreCalc, Acc English, Spanish II, Bio, Orchestra, and PE. I currently have all As but except for in Honors PreCalc. This is because I messed up one test (Got an 82 percent) and she only has 3 grades in there...My Spanish is hanging by a thread since it's only a 94.

This has been the cause of anxiety for a really long time. We've had our Progress Reports and for the first time, I've had a B+. I checked my sister's transcripts since she went to the same school and thankfully the transcript doesn't have quarterly grades only semester. The semester ends on February 7th and I know I can get it up, but for some reason I keep on getting really anxious. I really want to make it into the Ivy Leagues and I'm also involved in other extracurriculars. Help, has anyone gone through this?

This is how I deal with stuff that makes me anxious:

Think of the worst possible thing that could happen.

Assume it will happen.

Sketch out a plan for how I will go on to be happy and successful in spite of it.

“My Spanish is hanging by a thread since it’s only a 94.”

lol you’re fine

At my school 93 is a B, so maybe it really is hanging by a thread.

lol agreed with halcy and neutron, your spanish is fine. I’m also extremely nervous as well atm with a 93.6 in physics and just getting 80< x< 90 on a high point project. It’ll drop down to a 90-93. I’m almost like you (a freshman), I have a 94 in Spanish 3 and English. I’m not too nervous about those three since I’ve heard the final is easy for english and physics. I’m the only A in a class of sophomores, juniors, and seniors in my spanish class so I’m scared to death that will drop.

I just look at chance threads and see that people with 3.8+ still can get into Ivies and more, they just have to work a little harder than a 4.0 in terms of SAT’s and EC’s.

If a 93 is a B, then I’m very very very very thankful :)

LOL if a 90-93 was considered a B at my school, my GPA would be in a very sorry state.

Yes, I suppose, but still, I’m really nervous about those two :

Anxiety meaning pessimism? Or high blood pressure and inability to rest? Regarding the latter, the answer for me is “yes” and there is a specific technique for taming it.

"LOL if a 90-93 was considered a B at my school, my GPA would be in a very sorry state. "

Haha! You and me, both!

A 93% is an A at my school…

got an 87 on my last spanish test which brought it down to a 93.5…and my math is worrying me because she hasnt put any grades in.
