Now, the list

College List:

Syracuse University: Newhouse School: Early Decision
Ithaca College
Marist College
NYU
Temple University
Penn State: University Park
Southern Methodist University
University of Maryland: College Park
American University
George Washington University
Boston University
Quinnipiac University
Arizona State
University of Miami
University of Missouri: Columbia

Any other good journalism schools?!?!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Newhouse is going to be a pretty big reach.

Temple is a good fit, especially with that major/emphasis in mind. Plus, it's a helluva lot cheaper than all of the other schools.

I think you look good for Marist, ASU, Ithaca, Quinnipiac and Temple. SU, Miami and NYU are reaches. Unsure on the others.

Our academic record is pretty similar, except your overall GPA is alot higher lol.

I'm looking at some similar schools (Maryland, NYU, etc)

So I'm hoping you will do good there :)

P.S. honestly, I wouldn't go to Syracuse. I live in upstate New York, the weather is bad and it is an ugly city. But it's up to you :) just visit first

Syracuse, Nyu will be hard!

yep, NYU and Syracuse will be hard for you, high reaches. I'm not sure about the others.

but you still have a fair shot at all the schools on this list

thanks everyone!

i was kind of worried that everyone would put syracuse as a reach... :(

Kangaskhan, I def. need to visit. i am picturing the city to be either very nice or very ugly! and with what you are saying, things aren't looking too good!

if i get accepted to the high school college summer program, i will be in syracuse for 6 weeks over the summer so I will def. get a feel for it then!

more advice would be nice but thank you to everyone so far!!!

bumppppppp

NYU is a reach to me. However, your interesting ECs and summer programs may help you out with that. I think BU and GWU are very good schools to look at for you.

bumpppp pleaseee

Boston is a great school. Have you vixited?

Put on Emerson

I have not visited any schools yet. I wanna wait until the spring/summer because most of the school's I am looking at/will be able to visit are in the northeast and it is way too snowy and cold to visit IMO.

I liked Emerson but I want to double major in something like business or political science and they only have communication based majors....

bumpppppppppppppppppp

nyu will be difficult

I got a 25 on my ACT...don't know if this will help or hurt?!

I live just outside of boston....its honestly not THAT bad (not like WI, Pittsburgh, or chicago)

plus, if you aren't going to winter tour due to weather, you won't know what its like at the school during the winter. If you dont wanna deal with the cold now, how are you gonna be able to deal with it for six months when you're in college?

well, it is mainly my mom and dad who dont want to visit during the winter and they’re the ones with the $$ so I have to listen to them. I really dont mind winter that much, but I love 80 degree weather more.
