I think you look great. Just remember I don’t work for admissions and I can’t gaurantee that somebody is in or not. However, I think that if you present yourself well on the application, you have as good a shot as any. Good Luck.

you got a shot. Test scores are a tad low, but URM will help that.

there were ORMs on a Stanford facebook group that had 1700s and 1800s & still got in…so what constitutes a low/mediocre SAT score?

Most people like to get in the 2200+ range to be safe, for a place like Stanford.

ah, ok. thanks
I also have one SAT II & the score is pretty good.
would that hurt me also?

^ would a good sat2 score hurt you? no …

i think you have an excellent shot, 70% ish acceptance due to your URM (well , your EC’s are outstanding)

although i don’t agree with it, you probably have a pretty good shot considering you’re a urm. your test scores are mediocre but your ec’s are impressive.

If you’re a low-income student, I would recommend you check out QuestBridge.

[QuestBridge Home Page](http://www.questbridge.org)

On your own, you’re a strong applicant, and I’d say Stanford is a slight reach (50-50), but I’d be leaning more toward accept than reject. SCEA is very unpredictable.

Yeah I’d say you’d get in with your combo of URM, ECs, and first gen college (are you)?

yes & no. my father is getting his degree next May, so (obviously) he wont have it by the time i apply.

also, does your regional admissions officer have the greatest influence when reading your application? does he/she have the final say of whether you get in or not?

No, no one single person has the “final say” as to whether you get in or not. Your application is read and then, hopefully, taken to committee. That’s where the decision is made.

Whoever reads your application, though, acts as your advocate to the committee, so the more reasons you can give them to go to bat for you, the better.
