I was reworking one of my princeton essays for the common app, when i came across a typo, i wrote preformed instead or performed, i missed it before i submitted my app even though i read it like 8 times, even my english teacher missed it

I think it wont be too big of a deal, what do you guys think?

If I were an admissions officer, I'd be a lot more annoyed with people calling in to tell me about typos than I'd be if I just found one in an essay. They most likely will not think anything of it because they see this all the time.

hehe, I had a talk with one about ice cream, apparently her son liked ice cream and I was eating some, so we talked about where to get ice cream (bent spoon) and what favors to get :D

suffice to say, she wasn't too annoyed when I asked her to correct silly mistakes (such as my birth country :P )

should i call or email the admission office to tell them that the reason for the low math score (690) on my second SAT attempt was that i made a stupid bubbling mistake? or should I just leave them alone and let them make their judgment from my highest composite and my high AIME score? I know i shouldn't be too psyched, but i just cant help.

alwaysfaithful, to be straight up with you, I don't think them hearing it was a bubbling mistake will help you at all. It might even hurt to call and make excuses like that. Believe me, I know what you mean on bubbling errors (Back on the Old SAT I answered "B" once when I was thinking "the answer can not BE determined" and it's really, really frustrating. But just let the application speak for itself. The 690 certainly will not kill you.

I think your AIME score will compensate, though I do understand why you are worried. Just relax. If you are deferred (I hope not) then you can send in a note explaining your 690, along with something else that would improve your chances.

I dunno, typos don't exactly look good, but I can't see it mattering that much. One mistake is okay, they're only people, and if you're applicant number 27 on a Friday, they probably won't even notice.

Not sure if this is a typo, but I do believe I forgot to write in my favourite quotation on the App. Then again I wrote one of my essays on said topic, so maybe it will help me. Adds a little mystic... The Adcom looking over and then... Ah-Ha! I do give my quotation in the last sentence of my essay so it should keep them on their toes... lol Oh, I wish..
