Since December 15th is around the corner, has anyone nervous for the Early Action decision? Also, when will we be able to check online to see if we got accepted or deferred to Regular Decision? I'm sure you can view it online before you'll get it in the mail about the acceptance/deferred. I think I need to go ahead and start on my essay for UGA's Regular Decision.

My SAT is 750M/520CR
GPA: 3.96UW
1AP CAL
I don't know why but I have a good feeling that i'd be accepted. Otherwise, it'd be painful to start writing essays for RD. I have not even taken a look at the app lol. Hope I will get in early (as a back up).

Good luck!

My UW GPA is 3.94 or 3.96; I don't remember exactly what it was. I've taken every single honors and advanced class my school offers, and my school only offers one AP class. That would be Calculus, and I will be taking it next semester. I would get accepted to Early Action if it wasn't for my SAT/ACT scores. When it comes to timed tests, especially in the mornings, then I don't do good at all. My ACT Composite is like a 21; Math was 23 and English was 22. The Science part on the ACT killed me the most, even though the other areas of it killed me as well. Ironically, I'm going to be majoring in Chemistry in college to become a Pharmacist.

D is not really thinking about it, she is on the cusp stats-wise and I have prepared her mentally for RD but since she has been accepted to so many rolling admissions schools and she wants to make a decision soon, I highly doubt she will continue her app if she is deferred to RD.

To be blunt, she can't bring herself to write one more essay right now. I don't blame her.

Good luck everyone, hope to hear lots of good news from one and all!
:)

Does anyone know when we can view our status for Early Action online? I'm sure it is before December 15th... perhaps a few days ahead of time?

Patel, what exactly are the essays we have to write for RD? I heard there are four. Is it true?

You can just go to uga.edu and go to printable forms and view the rest of the application.

dude, there're 4 short essays. I don't know how am I gonna do it? Too weary already to write the essays for GA tech and emory :(

Yes, there are four short essays to complete for Regular Decision. I'm sure one of them is going to ask about EC activities, one about the awards you've received, another one about why you wanna go to UGA, and the fourth one... I have no idea. It's nerve-wrecking as December 15th gets closer and closer.

They're only 150-200 words aka only one paragraph. It's not that bad...

so how does it work- we log onto the status check on the 15th and it will be up?? gonna be up any earlier like that friday night??

I believe our status will be up online before December 15th, but I don't know the exact date. Any of these upcoming days.

So are you all going to check every day? If you find out it is up, please post here.

the results will be online december 15 after 5 pm. My friend got accepted EA last year and the last few hours till 5 pm were awful. Then, what they do, when you go to the status, they ask you: do you realy want to know now, or wait until mail notification, and you say yes or no.
When is a yes, you get this cute computerized fireworks saying congratulations, etc.
I am not sure what oyu get if you are denied or deferred. I hope it helps calm down the anxiety, because it will not be posted before then. good luck!

Thanks for letting me know that. It's very nerve-wrecking until December 15th arrives. I have a feeling I'll be deferred because of one thing only... that being my SAT/ACT scores. :( But hopefully being an Indian, being in the top 5% of my class, and having a 3.94 or 3.96 UW GPA will help.

The info will not be up until the 15th...last year was right at 5:00...I think it was so no one called the admissions office! However, since the 15th is a Saturday, I wonder if it will be different.

The screen will say that the decisions are made. If you are at a public computer, you might want to reconsider looking until you are at a private location where you can handle news, good or bad. If you are sure you want to know, then hit this button. Fortunately, the next screen for my son was the fireworks. It was really cute! He did not want to write the essays. However, they are really only paragraphs. Son #2 applied EA this year. I expect a deferrment. His SAT was 1290, GPA is 3.67, 2 AP's. I do not think race plays into EA; however, there is always hope that they need more white males. Son #1 had 1350 SAT. I do not know anyone w/ EA who had under 1300, that is why I think son will be deferred. If deferred, there is less than a month to get teacher recs and write essays.

Good luck to everyone, especially those who hate to write essays!!

-mom

Good luck to your son #2! My SAT score is WAY UNDER 1300 for the two combined, and that's why I'm pretty positive I will be deferred for EA. I was thinking of telling one of my teachers to go ahead and write my Teacher Recommendation forms before Christmas break. I hope I get in and everyone else does too!

You should indeed get that rec done now...avoid the rush in January!

Chances are I'm going to get deferred (3.7 unweighted GPA, 4.0 weighted, 1200 SAT, 28 ACT) unless they're suddenly real eager to accept a white male from New England. But I don't know if I'm even going to bother going through the rest of the regular decision stuff. I already got into South Carolina and Ohio State and Penn State, my top choice, is supposed to give a decision soon.

I already have two teacher recommendations (originally gotten for schools I didn't apply to) but I'd really rather not right four more essays, even if they are short.

FuturePenn: they'd take you for your "diversity." I met several nice students from up your way while visiting my white male son. They do need a few white males...it just sounds like no one wants y'all...but they really do!
