I have to present a huge project tomorrow in English :( I always get SO nervous and shaky when I have to get up in front of the class.?

Help?

Well, it depends. What aspect of the presentation makes you nervous?

Fear that your work won’t be received well/nervous to talk in front of classmates/ intimidated by teachers?

For me, I was always afraid that the way I pictured making presentations and the way they actually happened would be two different things.

Practice a lot, and practice appearing confident. Fake it til you make it :)

Make sure you know exactly what you will say and then turn it into a conversation. Obviously it can’t be an actual conversation if you’re just presenting, but pretend you’re just explaining your views on something to a friend, so you’re just talking for longer without a break. That should make you more natural. Think about what you do when you speak: You probably prove a point by asking a question and then answering it yourself, say things like “Okay” every once in a while, or “I was thinking about this and realized that…”

It will make your presentation slightly less formal, but you’ll feel more at ease and then do a better job. Obviously the point here is not to insert these things in for the sake of them; they’re just examples–you want to think of your little speech mannerisms and make sure you keep them.

And practice, of course. But practice as if you’re talking one-on-one to someone.

don’t worry, being nervous in front of an audience is a very common fear. In fact, I would go far as to say that it is the most common fear in the world. So chill, no one will hate you if you mess up, it’s not the end of the world. Secondly, pretend that the audience is a stupid vegetable that you really hate. That really helps, although people might look at me afterward, “why did you call me a ‘onion ■■■■■■■’?” lol

It might not help, but i think everyone feels the same way and thinks everyone esle is going to make fun of you. But if you think about it, nobody really cares and everyone can’t wait until the class is over anyway. So just try to make it exciting, even though even the teacher probably wont think it is. I wonder if there is anything you can take to make you not nervous?

I totally know how you feel, I get super nervous even to talk from my seat. I just hate being center of attention, so what I do is pretty much start my presentation and later my fears kind of subside. Just practice with your friends before class and be confident in your self :)

Talk to yourself. Or to a spot on the wall above the class.

Yeah, usually you start to feel less wierd after you start talking. I dont like talking to the whole class either. I just thought of something else. That’s what teachers have to do everyday. It kind of makes me think about when guys make fun of the teachers in class when they mess up. I dont think i would want to be a teacher.
