Netbook for a Public Policy/Econ major

Well I am some what is a s hole. I would love a laptop but I dont have the money. Ill have 200 saved up by the end of the month but doubt Ill have enough for a 500 dollar laptop by th e 21st of sept when I move out. So I can easily afford a netbook since they are within the 300s. But Although they r nice it gets annoying when typing. I would like toknow if I can connect a keyboard to a netbook and if it good for my kind of major

You can hook up a USB keyboard and use Open Office, but you’ll probably end up needing an external hard drive. Also, that ~10-inch monitor could get really small when you’re trying to do serious work.

I’d lean toward a referbed laptop from newegg.com or tigerdirect.com given your needs and financial constraints.

If you want a cheap notebook with a decent sized screen, that should help you out. Keep in mind that the performance is somewhat anemic, so don’t expect to be playing any demanding games on it. It’ll be fine for essays, music, internet, & probably even casual gaming.

There are cheap notebooks in the 300’s that are probably better suited to being used as a full time computer. You could probably also just get a desktop for around that price.
