Netbook?

Hey!
I currently have a Sony Vaio computer, but it's a bit big for my college backpack.
I would like to find a cheap, good netbook computer that lasts 4-5 hours at least of battery life.
Only basic functions needed (internet, Word, etc)

Your suggestions?

That’s pretty much the specs for any netbook. As long as u get a model that has a 6 cell battery, it’ll last 5 hours or more. I’d recommend asus’ eeepc models. Fairly inexpensive and have never given me any issues.

Netbooks are good options but one big problem the cheap ones have is only 1gb of RAM, and there’s a big price difference crossing over to a 2gb netbook. But 1gb should be fine for needs anyway.

There are also some Acer netbooks with a 11 in screen. Side by side with a ten incher, you can see a noticeable size difference. Yet, still a very small footprint.

An upgrade to 2 GB is $30 or so, if the netbook is reasonably designed…
