I applied to Uconn but have not yet gotten a letter of acceptance or rejection. However, today I got my 2 NetID letters telling me how to activate it. I did that just now. Do the NetID letters ocme to you after being accepted or do they come before hand??? I am wondering if maybe my acceptance letter was lost in the mail and I never got it, because this NetID letter makes it appear that I have been accepted.

Sounds like your letter may have been lost. My son was accepted about 3 weeks ago and just got those same letters today. Give them a call on Monday.

i got my net id letters once i sent in my $150 acceptance deposit... ur not supposed to get ur net id unless u have decided ur going there...

What Shmelma said. Do what handemom said and call them up.

Are you sure Shelma? I haven't set in my deposit or anything but I did get my NeT ID recently, about 3 or 4 weeks after I got my acceptance letter

Hi, my son applied in late Nov was accepted about 3 weeks later. Received the 2 letters from UCONN regarding the net id this week which is about 5 weeks after getting his acceptance letter. If I remember correctly, there was something mentioned in the acceptance packet telling him to be on the lookout for these letters so I would call admissions on Monday to clarify. Good Luck

thats how i thought it went.. you pay then u get the netid..that would make sense...but then again i got my acceptance the 18th and my deposit was in the mail the 19th...so i prolly would have gotten mine too is if i hadnt sent in the money so early...

so i guess you do get the letter b4 you send the deposit but that doesnt make any sense to me.. why would they give you an email if there not sure ur going there, to me it seems like a waste of time on their part...none of my other colleges did this??

hmmm....I got my net id letter w/o a deposit after a month after EA admission.

My son still hasn't paid but got his NetID. Go to UCONN Phone Book and type in your name. You can find your NetID there if you are listed.

Same here - S was admitted a couple of weeks ago and got the letters with his NetID and email address today. We haven’t sent in a deposit, as he’s still waiting to hear from some other schools. It seems odd to me that they’re giving out these IDs before a student is actually enrolled.

Net IDs come a little later.

Don’t you also get a Net ID if you are taking an ECE course at your high school?

My twins got their Id’s, they the activation code and ID came separately. One tried to activate hers but did something wrong, the other hasn’t tried yet.
We didn’t send a depost and they got accepted in early Jan. I think.

Funny… My D was granted early admission in late November. We paid the Deposit then received the two letters and set up her accounts. We have already completed the housing application. I do know that you need to pay the deposit to complete the housing application. Not sure why some have been able to establish the Net ID without the deposit.
