NetID

i got my NetID stuff today in the mail, but when i try to change the temporary password, it keeps telling me that i've entered an invalid password. is anyone else having this problem or am i just as computer illiterate as i had always assumed i was? any suggestions on what to do?

make sure you follow ALL of the requirements on the NetID page. That's a common problem people have(i work at UIS).

no the password i created definitely fits the requirements - its 8 characters long, with letters, numbers, and punctuation. the site keeps informing me that my "current password" is invalid.

Jason here is a UIS god, lol, if nothing works cal UIS, they're on the website.

spank you both, i will try my best. too bad i'm computer - stupid.

OMG, I am too. That's why I have an apple, it's so easy and straight forward to use, and it's polite not mean liek PCs, I love my apple. (Sorry I needded to insert my I heart apple plug)

I had the same problem and I called UIS. Apparently a lot of people have been having the same problem. Unfortunately, the only way around it is to go through all of the steps to reset your password. This includes faxing in a form from their website with a photo ID. Suprisingly, it ended up being very easy. I faxed the form 10 minutes after talking to them and I had everything working in less than an hour. UIS was very helpful. I hope this helps you.

ah yes, netID password resets...what they pay me $7/hr to do everyday. lol j/k. Yeah just fax in the form to do it, that's the only way unless you live nearby then you can come to the uis service desk.
