NetID's

When do we get our NetID's and such? Do they come with the package of information that we are supposed to receive sometime this month? I was just wondering because accessing anything on the G'Town website is quite difficult without one of those badboys.

I am not sure about freshmen, but as a transfer I received my NetID sometime in June. Your NetID is usually activated a couple days after Georgetown receives your deposit. You can confirm this by searching for your name in the student directory.

If you go to http://www13.georgetown.edu/directory/ and search for your name, you'll find that anyone who's sent in their deposit has a NetID. Once you have this, you should be able to call tech. support at (202) 687-4949, say that you forgot your password, and they might be able to reset it for you after you verify your SSN, date of birth, or something like that. Anyone wanna give it a try? ;-)

I got my NetID last year sometime in the middle of May.

You first lol

sjsmith I'll do it whenever their office opens, because I want to create my damn Facebook, haha.

Actually, apparently all we have to do is scan our photo ID, e-mail it to them, and ask them to "reset" our password, which then changes it to "A******", where the six stars represent the last 6 digits of your SSN. Seems simple enough.

Actually, I think you can find your NetID by looking at the URL of your directory entry. At the very end of the URL, there should be a "=". All the letters and numbers after that are your NetID.

But how do we find out the password? Is there some type of formula that they use? lol

I do not know.

My password came in a letter.

did it have any correlation to your name or ssn or id or anything?

Not that I recall.

I'd assume they want your GEORGETOWN photo ID, though – something we don't have.

HAHAHAHAHA IT WORKED! I used my license. IT WORKED YESSSSS

Dont worry guys. I live in Maryland and I got the letter in the mail today that gave me my temporary password and my net id. You shall be receiving them soon.

yea i got my net id, and e-mail address- YES COLLEGE FACEBOOK!

Is there any correlation between password and anything?

No there's no correlation. It seems to be a bunch of random letters and numbers. Mind you, it's only a temporary password that you change later. Your Netid however will probably have your initials in it with some numbers. Mine does lol.

I got mine in NYC today!!!

My letter came today as well, but there was something really strange about it. It gave me my net id, my temporary net id password, and my GO Card #, but when it came time in the letter to give my email address, it just said

"Your Georgetown e-mail address is."

Really strange, can anyone comment on this????
