I'm an incoming freshman and interested in Greek Life. How are the fraternities on campus? Could anyone rank the fraternities and describe some of the characteristics of each one (including which ones have a house/rent an apartment)? I know NEU doesn't have the biggest frat life, but I'm still interested.

Here's a list I found online:

Alpha Delta Phi, Nu Epsilon Zeta
Alpha Epsilon Pi, Sigma Kappa Psi
Alpha Kappa Sigma
Beta Gamma Epsilon
Beta Theta Pi
Kappa Sigma
Pi Kappa Alpha
Phi Delta Theta
Sigma Phi Epsilon

To my knowledge, there are no fraternity houses at NEU. While I’m not terribly familiar with the off campus housing situation, I’m pretty sure that houses are outright banned.

BGE is the only frat (or sorority) with a legit house. It’s a pretty big place on Comm Ave. It’s because they’ve had it since literally pre-WWII so the laws were grandfathered in.

Most of the other groups have houses where they throw all of of their parties, but it’s just a few frat guys who happen to live together.

Thanks for the responses!
Anyone else?

I am a member of Sigma Beta Rho here at NEU. We have an apartment here and are a multicultural Fraternity. If you want to learn more about us, go to our website.
