neuro major:info about UCs, Davis, double major/honors...advice please!

**I've searched for neurosci. related threads previously, but I'm still not 100 percent sure this thread should go here, please let me know if it's in the wrong place 8] I figured that it would be near the "help me choose" ones.

I'm interested in becoming a neurologist, probably a pediatric neurologist.
I am looking at the different programs the UCs offer, leaning on Davis because of location close to home. Is there anything to be said about the quality of Davis' neuro program?

Specifically, does anyone have firsthand experience with the NPD major at Davis? It sounds like a marriage of the techncial biology and yet also of the more non-technical aspects of neurology, plus lots about animal systems...

How does a neuro major (ie; neuroscience, neurobiology, bioneurology) major compare to a biology major?
And, what is the distinctions between these neuro majors?

I also want to double major and participate in Honors programs, so please share if you have any information. Would it be crazy to double major in Neurology, Physiology and Behavior at Davis plus another subject such as Biochem?

Thank you!

check out the UCSD programs also. They have a whole department in neuroscience…Strongest of all UC’s.

^I second the recommendation for UCSD. It has one of the strongest neuroscience departments in the world – Ramanchandran is there!
