Neuroscience at UCLA

I'd appreciate Neuroscience students sharing their experiences and advices for an incoming freshman...

Side question, are most or all Neuroscience students pre-med?

im bumping this b/c i would like to know too since that’s my major i got in with

Want to know too…will you be a doctor? Pursuing a Minor?

neurosci is most diffiuclt of all life science majors…requires lots of work…ucsd is ranked higher than ucla for neurosci btw…there will be plenty of research opp at both…yea there are a lot of premeds in it…however understand neuro can destory ur gpa…if u wanna go to med school pick a diff major…or if u wanna go to med schoool and major in neuro go to ucsd

^ not true. phy sci and mimg are harder. in addition, there are pre-meds in neuroscience (there are pre-meds in pretty much every life science major) but most of the pre-meds are usually concentrated in phy sci so relative to the other majors neuroscience does not have that many pre-meds.

^not true lol phy sci is just memorization lol…

^true but you’re competing with like what, 80% pre-meds? pretty much no curve?

wutev, it’ll be hard every major…i guess we can settle that neuro and physci are the hardest…mimg is nothing compared to the two
