I really want to go into neuroscience because I find the brain and how the chemicals and parts affect our behavor and such very interesting.
I wanted to be a neurologist for a long time, but then I realized that the schooling involved in being a doctor like that is very time consuming and so is the job itself. I don’t to waste my life away in a hospital and spend my entire life working, so what are some careers in neuroscience I can go into that doesn’t require as much schooling but still pays a good amount of money. I’ll go to school for a while, I don’t want to go for like 10 years.
EDIT: I am also interested in pharmacy. How long would schooling take to be a pharmacist? Is there a career that possibly links the two areas of study together? Also, if you have any other career suggestions for me, that would be great! Thanks!
With that combination of interests, you might be interested a in psychopharmacology - the study of how drugs and medication affect the brain. Both neurology and pharmacy are clinical paths. Have you considered research as a career option?
I don’t really think I want to do research
Maybe you could be a journalist and just write about science.
Science writing is a good option. I also know people who have gone on for an MBA or to law school after a neuroscience degree.
