Neuroscience Chance Please

CCC Student

Major: Neuroscience/Neurobiology (depending on school)

Pre-Requisites: Missing O-Chem & Physics

IGETC: Completed by Spring

GPA: 3.4

EC: Phi Theta Kappa Chapter President (Founding/Chartering at new community college campus-First student organization on campus), Volunteer at a UC Emergency Dept. (100+ Hours), Work experience in Biology/Chemistry Lab at college as a Lab Tech Assistant (1 Year/13 hours per week)

Personal Statement: Excellent- I had two post-docs read it and both had same reaction.

Applied to: UCSD, UCB, UCLA, UCI

I would really appreciate any feedback, I'm extremely nervous at the moment.

y wont u finish your pre-req?! that might be your disadvantage...

I have to spend one more year at community college to finish them. Bio majors typically spend 3 years at community college because our pre-reqs are so much! I'm just hoping I'll get lucky and get accepted this year so I can take them at a UC. I'm taking 20 units this Spring and I took 16 last semester--it's been like that since the beginning =/ Do you think I may still have a chance?

Listed below are the lower division preparation courses for the major. All
courses must be taken for a letter grade. THIS MAJOR IS HIGHLY SELECTIVE; a
significant number of preparatory courses should be completed prior to transfer.
At minimum, you should complete one year of biology with laboratory, one year of
general chemistry with laboratory, one year of calculus and one semester of
organic chemistry with laboratory. Completion of a second semester of organic
chemistry or one year of calculus-based physics is strongly recommended

ok that info. is for UCLA and they r saying you have to complete at least 1 semester of o-chem.... so UCLA/cal not in a good position... and I know that SD has a competitve science department so not good chance either... so your slight hope is on irvine!

UCSD suggests you take Ochem at UCSD
