Whats the best neuroscience school?

Yale is pretty good.

Ok, I was probably gonna try applying to at least 1 or 2 ivies, but what about schools that are a little easier to into (tier 2)?

I know I said best, but yeah, i meant good

Allegheny, Bowdoin, Brown, UCLA, Colgate, Rice, U of Michigan, New College (FL), Northwestern, Oberlin, U Pittsburgh, Johns Hopkins, U Rochester, Pomona, Wesleyan, University of South Dakota, UCSD are "easier to get into."

Really, any school with great biology, chemistry, and psychology departments will provide a good neuroscience foundation. (It is an interdisciplinary major.) There are also possibilities to create your own major at schools and some unique programs, (e.g. UPENN's 3B and WUSTL's three-pronged approach to the field, making driving down the meaning of 'interdisciplinary' down the throat of the already engaging subject), involving neuro by name.

I would worry less about getting the actual degree than having a solid background (because there are numerous routes that can allow you to reach your neuroscience dreams).

So please don't exclude schools that don't state their neuro programs explicitly (the major occurs in limited amounts).

Okay, thanks a ton guys. Great advice!
