Neuroscience

Does anyone know what Colgate's neuroscience program is ranked? Or if it is any good?

sorry, there are no rankings for any undergrad programs

Well, anyway, it is listed here:

<a href="http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/majors/brief/major_30-24_brief.php%5B/url%5D">http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/majors/brief/major_30-24_brief.php</a></p>

And since it is interdisciplinary at Colgate it is overwhelmingly likely to be housed in the New state of the art Ho Center, which Colgate will probably be doing what it can to advance the reputation of.

Thanks for the info!

I'm actually a current Colgate student, and I'm considering switching my major from biology to cellular neuroscience. I'm just a little worried that majoring in such a specific field like cellular neuro might limit my options when I go to grad school. I don't know why I'm so worried about that though—I’m required to take just as many bio and chem courses as I do neuro courses for the cell neuro major.

I know that Colgate's neuro program is the second oldest, and I hear that it's great, but I'm still a little hesitant. Does anyone have any advice? Should I make the switch? I really don’t think that bio is right for me.

I would think profs at Colgate would be much more informed in advice on this than anyone on this board. The only thing I could add is I got the impression when I was at Colgate that it was relatively more respected in chemistry than in biology, which these PhD rankings seem to confirm.
