right now my intended major is bioengineering / premed focus, but i'm considering switching to neuroscience because it seems more practical and interesting. any experience with neuroscience at pitt?

Well, that’s a huge difference. Bio-E is in the engineering school while Neuro would be in Arts & Sciences. There are vast differences just in the pre-reqs for the two (Gen eds for Arts & Science vs. the generic freshman year courses for engineering). also it seemed to me that either will be fine for you since you’re premed but (just my opinion) both are overrated pre-med “tracks”. Almost all the Bio-E majors are premed, and a LOT of arts & science pre-med kids will do neuro or bio/chem. blah.

BUT if one of them sounds really cool to you go for it. My opinion would be go with Bio-E. If you decide you dont want to be a doctor inf 4 years, you have a better chance of getting a job as an engineering major.

^ Good advice there.

yeah i think i’m gonna start out with bioe and see how it is
