Neurotic Question

Here I go, being neurotic again...

Will the fact that I've gotten several (5) B+'s and 3 A-'s hurt my chances severely at top schools? I'm feeling kind of intimidated by all the people with 4.0+ GPAs. The thing is, no one goes through my school with straight A's. No one. Especially kids in advanced classes. Our teachers are REALLY tough graders. The class average in physics last year was a D. And that was after the curve.
I still have a really good class rank, if that does anything to counterbalance it.

Apply and find out... I think that's the best advice... Are u a incoming junior? I think if you truely give your heart and soul on a college app, u have a pretty decent shot.

I'm a senior.

Just get a school report/letter explaining that grading is different in your school than the rest. That's what I'm doing, although I'm an international.

Rank is way more important than grades. If your school sends kids to top schools, they know. Kids in the top 30% get into ivies at my school,

I agree with the above. Some schools are just a lot harder than other schools to achieve A's.

which school do u go to suze?

Okie dokie. My school isn't anywhere near as competitive as yours, suze, but kids in the top 5% are sent to Ivies and other top schools every year. I'm definitely in that percentile, so....good.
