<p>@2200 I attended Catholic high school during my freshman year. I was placed into college-prep level courses. I really don’t get why I wasn’t placed into honors courses since I graduated third in my class in middle school class haha. Well, I had a terrible freshman year, academically, since my middle school is in the statistically worst district I the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania! I had a hard time adjusting to the rigor of the curriculum. Due to my lackluster performance and financial issues (my mom is a single mom with four kids, including me), I was sent to the public high school in PA’s worst school district. At my Catholic HS, the first AP course you can take is AP Euro, but I didn’t attend that school during my sophomore year. My grades improved significantly at the public school since the work wasn’t all that challenging. Plus, they didn’t have any honors or AP courses. When I was readmitted to the Catholic HS for my junior year, yet another obstacle was hurled at me: I had to take the sophomore courses as prescribed by the Catholic HS’s curriculum. As it turned out, I took my junior year courses (Chem, Spanish II, American History) during my sophomore year at public HS; therefore, I had to make up the soph courses (Bio, French II, World History II) that year to earn enough credits to graduate. The only AP courses you can take as a junior are AP USH, AP Chem, and AP Bio. Since I was taking soph bio and already took chem, the two AP science courses were eliminated. Also, since I had already taken American History and not World History II, AP USH was eliminated as well. My junior year was my best year ever, academically and socially. This year, as a senior, the AP’s that were available were: AP Stat, AP Calc AB/BC, AP Spanish, and AP Psych. AP Stat and Calc AB/BC were eliminated because there’s a rule in place where you can’t move up a track (for example, college-prep to honors) in math after the 10th grade. AP Spanish was eliminated because French was the language I had taken throughout high school. Hell, I shouldn’t have been in Spanish II sophomore year because I had never taken Spanish I. That just shows you how disorganized the public school is hahaha! Finally, AP Psych was eliminated for Economics and US Gov. I heard that the school was going to set up a AP Gov class in the beginning of the school year, but for some reason it never happened. I told you that it would be a long story, 2200! I hope you haven’t fallen asleep reading this hahaha!</p>
