True or false?

Blanks are an automatic point off of your raw score, but guessing still leaves the possibility of a correct answer...

it depends. if you are confident you can eliminate the wrong choices AND know the tricks of the game WILL NOT choose the one trap answer choice, guess.

but most people narrow it down to two choice, one correct and one deceptive trap. often you will choose the trap and be worse off than leaving it blank.

I'd say leave it blank... you'll be better off, most likely.

If you can eliminate the 5 answer choices into 3 or below 3. You should try..

If you're semi-sure of the answer then I say go for it. If not...its better to leave the question blank.

I never leave anything blank. But that's because I can pretty much always eliminate some choices, and then I guess. I find that it works for me pretty well.

I beliueve no matter what raw score you get, it gets rounded up. So then, you could potentially guess on 2 questions and lose point 5 for getting em wrong and get it rounded up. I think

It depends on how many are complete guesses.

1 complete guess = 20% chance of improved score; 80% worse
2 = 36%; 64%
3 = 47%; 53%
4 = 59%; 41%
5 = 33% worse, 40% same, 27% better

and that's if you can't eliminate any choices.

never leave anything blank.

Guess. Even if you can only eliminate one answer choice, you're better off guessing than not guessing.

I always guess, because on the hard questions you can almost always eliminate a few "trick" answers

Eh, I still say that too many guesses add up. The odds are against you if you guess, so it's better to omit those q's on which you truly have no clue.

Noooooooo............. since all of the questions are worth one point (math section) it helps more than it hurts to leave a question blank than to randomly guess on a question, and leaving a question DOES NOT give you a automatic point off

^on the surface it is so, but beneath it, you actually lose. in other words,you don't gain the point. lol.

blank = -1 raw point
wrong = -1.25 raw point.

o_o

i agree with anhtimmy...as rocket review puts it, you are investing a fraction of a point for the hopes of not losing a full point.

also, when taking bb practice tests, mark which ones you guess on...and how many of those you get right :)

On October's math section, there was one multiple choice question I didn't have time to figure out. I eliminated two of the choices, made an educated guess, and got the question right. It's worth guessing even if you can only eliminate one choice.

if i left 2 choices , i will guess. But normally , i am wrong 'cos i get trapped. I think i should try to look out traps

Only leave a question blank if
1. You have absolutely no idea what to do
2. You have about 2 seconds to figure out what answer to put down

Otherwise, no blanks. The point loss difference between a blank and a wrong answer is very very small.

Agree .It is pointless to leave a question blank unless you have absolutely no idea what to do
