This is great that so many people on this thread have heard from schools. Every day my son is checking the mail. One of the acceptances was sent in a small envelope so my son thought it was just more school stuff. Now every letter has to be looked at. I just wish that we didn’t have to wait for the FA info.

digdig you and your D sound exceedingly well adjusted and practical :)

This is where my daughter would inject (about me), “She’s such a Virgo.” Heh.

Warriorboy, no joke about the long wait for FA info. That’s the downside of early acceptances. My child would like to choose and be done with it all. Tomorrow night is a financial aid session at my d’s high school. We don’t qualify for need-based aid, but I’m still a bit fuzzy on when/where/why to apply. I do want to preserve the availability of the one little loan available to shift some of this expense onto D, and I would like her to have a campus job eventually. I’m trying to to slam any doors shut just yet. She has sent scholarship packages to a couple of schools and has applied for Linfield’s Scholarship Day. News on all that is months out.

Digdig, glad you are picking up the pace of your posts (try to say that 3 times fast)! You have a lot to add, even for those of us who have no idea what a Virgo is supposed to be like1

Hi everyone!! It’s that time of the year when acceptances start rolling in, and I’m getting extremely anxious so I was wondering if anyone on this thread (you all seem very knowledgeable) could give me an idea of what to expect. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/813549-chance-freshman-mid-year-transfer-please-will-chance-back.html
THANK YOU!

Styrofoam, you’ll find out the answer to your question pretty soon. Hang in there.

Sty, I think your fine record will get you a pack of acceptances soon. Best of luck; try to relax; and remember you only need 1 acceptance, so don’t panic if a rejection or 3 comes in.
what was your first language?

yabeyabe2, what is the name of that prosecco you were talking about a few pages back? D came home today crowing about getting more As than Bs this trimester (and none of the other letter varieties), her absolute best trimester since starting at this school two years ago. Her timing is exquisite–pop the cork!

D got into Elon, Early Decision. Her UW GPA was 3.16, but the way Elon weights (+1 for honors, +2 for AP, so really a 6.0 scale) her GPA is 3.97. ACT score was 27. Hope this is helpful.

Lafalum84, CONGRATULATIONS to all of you!!!

Laf, that’s great news! Sit back and relax!

Dig, the nice thing about prosecco is that they all cost about $8-12, so you can have the liquor store owner pick his or her favorite from Italy and not spend your tuition money! (if you don’t like sparkling wines, I find sauvignon blanc from New Zealand or Chile similarly reliable for my non-gourmet tastes).

lafalum: congrats!! to your daughter (and the family)…and thank you for posting…

Wow Lafalum…you are done. Congrats!!

My son received his ED decision from Elon this morning! He has a 3.5 UW, a 30 ACT, lots of sports, NHS, student newspaper, and a lot of service credit. We are delighted to enter the holiday season with this behind us. Best of luck to everyone!

carrjrr, congrats! Now we’re both Elon parents! And we can relax and breathe during the holidays.

Congrats to the Elon crew. What a great way to start the day!

Congrats Carr!

Carr and laf, congrats from me, too. A friend of mine here at work has said great things about Elon.

Elon is a wonderful school! congrats to both of your families.

ED can be wonderful, can’t it? And it makes holiday shopping a little easier too.

Congrats Lafalum and carrjrr! Exciting day!!!
