New Acceptance rates???

Does anyone know where i could find the new national universities acceptance rates for 2011?? Or if anyone knows what the rates are, especially for the University of Miami

While a lot of colleges and universities are becoming more selective over time, and gaining admission is getting more competitive, the numbers usually don’t change dramatically from year to year. Year-old or even two-year-old data will usually be close enough for you to gauge your chances.

Places that collect the data you’re talking about, such as SuperMatch on CC, or the College Board’s web site, get the information from a document that colleges publish called the common data set. Section C of the common data set gives information (GPA, SAT, ACT, etc.) for the applicant pool and for enrolled students. If you don’t want to wait for College Board or SuperMatch to collect the latest data, you can Google “common data set” plus the name of a college or university that interests you to find the most recent information that institution has made public.

Thank you that was very helpful

Here’s a pretty large comprehensive list for the 2011 acceptance rates. Unfortunately, UMiami isn’t on there, but it’s still a nice list to reference.

@Sikorsky:

That’s really not true this year. Acceptance rates plummeted at many schools, so the old ones aren’t much to go by.

Case in point: UMich.

Red Seven, I don’t know about Michigan at all, but I do know rates didn’t “plummet” at the colleges my daughter applied to.

I still think that year-old statistics are usually a good guide, as I said before. If you want to quibble that this isn’t universally true, I won’t argue.

would you happen to know the 2011 fall acceptance rate?

i don’t think that data has been made public yet.

however, if you emailed/called the admission office, i’m sure they’d be willing to provide you with that number, or at least something close.

This has nothing to do with the actual questions, but thank you so much for the “let me google that for you” link. I will definitely be using that in the near future :).
