New ACT English Trend

I don't know if you guys notice. But for me, the September ACT English was really different from the previous ones. I did ton of practice tests. They are all pretty different from the September ACT English. The September one focused a lot on word definition, meaning in context, word choice ....

Is this a trend that ACT is going for? The reason I chose ACT over SAT is because ACT has less vocabulary questions. But the September test definitely caught me off guard. I usually scores at least a 32 on the test, but I only got a 27 on English

I took the September test too and i noticed the same thing. I thought it was really weird that they placed so much emphasis on vocab. Hopefully its just a one time thing, and they will return to the more expected test questions on the October test.

i had the same problem i usually scored 32’s but on this one i scored a 29. English is not my first language so I am not very strong with vocab. but hopefully it wouldn’t happen again.

^ i got a 29 too and i was hoping for a 30+
