New American University Scholarships

Good luck, I’m sure that he’ll receive finalist standing if he filled out the application.

I received the $9k/year scholarship for semifinalist and the potential $11k offer when I receive the finalist standing (in February, I think?), but does anyone know what happens if I am eligible to receive funding through FAFSA? That would be great if I ended up bringing in more in scholarships and financial aid than my total cost for college :)

I received the 13k/year scholarship. That helps a lot…

congratulations!

Thanks! Where else have you been accepted?

So far… Ohio State, Tennessee, and Georgia. I’ll hear back from USC, Florida, and Miami in a couple weeks, though. How bout you?

Cool cool. I’ve been accepted to UCONN, James Madison, Indiana, and Penn State. I still have to wait till March/April to hear from Occidental, UMiami, American, and Tulane.

I received a 10K scholarship several weeks ago.

My stats:

-Non-resident
-Not a Merit Finalist
-Do not qualify for any financial aid
-Admitted to Barrett, the Honors College
-Journalism Major
-ACT/SAT: 29/1880
-GPA 3.6

My daughter was accepted 1/7 and has a 3.8 GPA and a 2020 SAT. And OOS. I am hoping she’ll get some type of scholarship, if not, it’s too expensive. She got accepted into the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Comm. She’s excited, but needs $ to attend. On the website, it says that scholarship recipients are notified 2 to 3 weeks after acceptance. Did those of you that received scholarships find this time frame accurate?

Yea that sounds about right. I was admitted at the end of December and heard back about a week-week and a half ago.

I applied early Oct., got admitted early Nov. got admitted to Barrett early Dec., received the scholarship letter mid Jan. just came back from Barrett’s “Student Experience Day”, stayed with a student ambassador, met the Dean & a professor. Love it!! Now, I have to find more $$$ (scholarships) to justify going to ASU.

Just got my letter today, but it might have been on my myASU page for a while. I got a $7,500 Provost’s Award.

-In State
-3.8uw/4.3w
-30ACT
-Didn’t apply for Barrett
-Pre-Intermedia Major
-Didn’t qualify for Financial Aid
-I qualify for the tuition waiver due to exceeding the AIMS

Does anyone know if I can use both my NAUS and my AIMS scholarships?

Hi everyone! I applied to ASU and got a $9,000 President’s Scholarship. I’m from AZ, SAT 1900, future Barrett student, 3.93 uw/4.63w GPA, Biochem (medicinal) major. Since I exceeded the AIMS I guess I get free tuition.

My son was accepted around November. He didn’t get a letter of financial aid until last week! He had a GPA 4.0. SAT 1890, ACT 31, OOS, got a 15,000 per year under American University Scholars program. I am sure your daughter will get some scholarship. He has two other friends with GPA of 3.8 and they got offered 10,000 per year. I don’t think he will be going there but too bad, it is a lot of money!

Just an fyi, you can’t use more than one recruitment scholarship in tandem with each other :frowning:
For example, I can’t use the AIMS tuition waiver and my National Hispanic Scholarship together…I just get the one with the highest amount, even though I’m technically eligible for both.
