New (and Hopefully Improved!) Chances Thread

<p>Hi guys! I posted on this board a while back and got some really great feedback and advice. Now that I have my actual GPA and more pertinent data, I was wondering if my final list is realistic/well balanced. Thanks!</p>

<p>School: small LAC in New England
GPA: 3.75 in honors program
SAT: 2070 (CR: 700 WR: 720 M: 650) SATII: Literature: 680 Math 2: 620
HS GPA: 3.62 uw (8 AP's, all the rest honors; skipped ninth grade; 8 classes a semester)
Rank: 80/935-Top 10%</p>

<p>Activities:</p>

<p>Public Achievement coach
Yearbook copy editor (only freshman chosen to be on staff this yr)
Newspaper copy editor
Drama club (directing one act play this semester)
Tutoring
Campus activities board</p>

Newspaper editor in chief

Lots of theater activities
Founded local planning board for teen programming in town
Founded local creative writing group for teenagers

Babysitting (main ECs 10th and 11th grade were work and taking care of 2 younger siblings while parents worked)</p>

<p>Awards: Honor roll, NHS, FLHS, statewide community service award, several local writing/journalism awards, a few others</p>

Creative endeavors: midway through writing a novel, and have own original comic book series that I'm looking to get published
Athletics: Cycle 10-12 miles per day
Grew up in lower income situation</p>

<p>Reasons for transferring: I decided to change my major to neuroscience, which is not offered at my present school. Also, looking for a bigger environment; my current school is about half the size of my high school. I would like to travel a bit more too; my school is only about twenty minutes from my house</p>

<p>Essays: should be good
Recs: great; one from English professor who attended and taught at Brown, the other from head of the Poli Sci department and advisor to one of my activities</p>
