AP Environmental Science is being offered at my school beginning next year. Should I wait until after next year to take it so they can work out the kinks or should I take it?
It is regarded as the easiest AP science course, so keep that in mind when budgeting what year would be best to take it.
Okay, that makes sense.
Should I make my schedule for junior year or senior year more challenging do you think?
Do you know who the teacher will be? Sometimes that can give a hint if the course will have a prepared teacher. What is another option for science? Many colleges like to see Physics junior or senior year. IMO if you are strong in the sciences and have interest, I would make your schedule so that AP Physics is included one year and maybe take AP Env Sci as an elective.
My schedule next year would look like:
English 11 Honors
APUSH
Physics Honors <<<<
Trig and Pre-Calc Honors
German IV Honors
AP Chem <<<<
AP Environmental OR AP Bio <<<<
Should I take APES or AP Bio in your guys’ opinion? It will be my first experience with AP classes.
I am taking physics next year definitely. This is so senior year I can take AP Phys along with APES or AP Bio, depending on which one I take next year.
Do not take AP Chem AND AP bio along with APUSH. I would choose a light course instead of another science (Physics, Chem, and another science is a bad idea). What are your interests? Music? Arts? Do any electives interest you? Psychology is more of a social science… does that interest you?
Agree that AP Chem, AP Bio, APUSH, and Honors physics seems like too much. I’d opt for AP Environmental or a non-science elective.
I’m realllly not into the arts at all. I also have to take 7 full year classes to wave PE which i also want to do.
Interestingly enough, I’ve only taken one elective at school my entire experience, which was Microsoft certification. Freshman year I doubled up on math and this year I took Spanish as an elective just to get a taste of it. so not having electives doesn’t bother me.
Okay, I’ll probably end up keeping APES then.
Considering your schedule, APES (or another elective - Spanish since you took it this year, culinary arts, personal finance. .)
