New Applicant: What is MyPitt used for?

DD applied to Pitt and recently received an email to create an “applicant account” which is finally called a MyPitt account,. We are unsure what it will be used for. Can someone please help guide us? When we click on the “Check my application” the page seems rather blank. Will there eventually be something posted by Pitt Admissions on the page? Thanks!

Yeah it may take a few days to update but eventually mine told me they were still waiting for sat scores. If you first log in and it says you are missing a bunch of stuff like the app. fee event though you already paid it, wait a few days before contacting Pitt because mine was updated with the right information in like a day or two.

@almostdonewithhs Thanks for the reply.
We found our way to the Application Status page. If that page says Application Complete does that mean they have connected all previously sent test scores to the application and they have everything? All along, with each test, DD had selected Pitt for score reports, and she does not intend to test again, so I think Pitt should already have scores. Although they may not have AP test scores yet. She also self reported her transcript. Can we rest easy knowing they have everything necessary?

Sorry I’m not sure, mine still says waiting for test scores but if yours says app complete it should be good

If anything is missing, it would be outlined there. If nothing is listed – you should be good! Of course, our office will reach out if we need anything additional.

Perfect! Thank you!

AP scores most likely won’t come into play until it’s time to schedule classes.

I recently submitted my application and just received the email regarding the way to check my application status. I went through the activation process and it took me to Pitt Peoplesoft. I wasn’t able to find the status there. I found the login page for MyPitt; however, the username and password provided by Pitt does not work. Is there another username/password I should be using?

You should be able to find your application status by following the steps outlined in the email you received (with the subject “Pitt Application Confirmation”):

-To log in to the Web Portal, enter your username and password in the box labeled Student Applicants.
-To access your application, please click on the link Check My Application.
-Click on Self Service,
-Then Admissions,
-Then Application Status.

If you have any issues with your account, the Pitt Technology Help Desk is available to assist you via phone or web chat: technology.pitt.edu.

@hailtopitt1787 my application has said “This application is incomplete” for the past few days but it doesn’t say that I am missing test scores anymore. Is there something they’re still waiting for?

@almostdonewithhs, Sometimes it takes a few days for the status to clear, but if no specific action items are listed – you should be good. If it still says application incomplete in the next few business days, feel free to shoot us an email: oafa@pitt.edu.

@hailtopitt1787

I recently completed my application but on my portal it says my test scores have still not been received and I also received a letter in the mail yesterday stating my scores had not been received.

I indicated I had taken the ACT twice this year and am taking it one more time in September. The scores from one of the tests are actually showing up in the portal so I know the April scores are recorded and in my portal.

I sent the February test scores just last week. Is the portal waiting on those test scores? Or is it waiting for my September 2016 scores?

I am fine with Pitt processing my application based on my April scores and just want to make sure there is no delay as they wait for my September scores.

Thanks!!

@Mp4321, It may be the scores you just sent that we are asking for. If you would like a processor to look into the status of your account or would like to amend which scores you send, please contact our office: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.
