I'm a current sophomore in high school in San Diego, CA. I'm very interested in applying to two boarding schools: Lawrenceville and George School. However, there are a number of things that I'm worried about. First of all, I have never been in that sort of environment, and I'm worried that shifting to boarding school in my junior year would be very risky. This is because of a number of factors: weather (I'm a California girl), completely different environment, academic pressures, college pressure. I have already switched schools once in high school because this summer we moved, so I did my freshman year in San Francisco and my sophomore year in San Diego. Does now switching schools again and going to boarding school reflect badly on a college application, and do you think it will impact my college admissions negatively? I really want to go to Columbia or Stanford, and I want to make sure that I'm not making the wrong decision.
