THE SCHOOLS
Reaches
Brown(a huge reach as well, should i bother with app?)
Yale SCEA(i know my chances are like zero, zip, zilch. Should i bother with the app?)

Matches
Smith(first choice, LOVE IT)
Scripps

Methinks you have a great chance with Yale SCEA, considering that you have
(a) Great Numbers (but SATIIs?)
(b) Intense Devotion to your various ECs. (Bravo with Debate and Stagecraft)
(c) High accomplishment in your ECs.

One thing of concern is your extensive amount of ECs (although, again, devotion is clearly evident). I’m no college admissions officer, so my opinions are officially worth zip. However, I believe that you have a great chance in Smith/Scripps, provided that you demonstrate who you are through your essays/interview.

Brown - Low Reach/Mid Reach
Yale (SCEA) - High Reach, although that’s pretty much the story for everyone
Smith - Unsure
Scripps - Unsure
UAlabama - There’s no way in hell they’d deny you

Now to address something…even if you believe you have no chance in being granted admission to a school that you really like, you should still “bother” with the app. For the two schools your questioning, NO ONE is guaranteed admission and it’s way too unpredictable. I’d say you have just as good a shot as anybody. Who knows, you may be in for a nice surprise come December for Yale SCEA and in April with Brown. But if you get into Smith, that shouldn’t matter, should it? =]

Wow! 1000 hours! Jeez Louize that’s some nie stuff. realy well rounded, you definetely could get into all the colleges except for Yale and Brown. Those are reaches, but you should definetely apply*- if you say ur essay is that good then you have a decent shot.

I would say if you have some cultural knowledge about your Native American history, put it. It will help you.

I would definitely apply to all the places you’ve listed. Very strong ECs, and like samsunimomo said, if you’ve got a good essay, you’re golden. (Well, not Golden for Yale - but who is?) Definitely worth applying to all the places you’ve listed.

I disagree with the above. You don’t need to ED to your first choice, not with your stats and EC’s that you’ve posted. We all know the ivies are crapshoots for everyone, somehow I think you will be one happy camper possibly 12/15, but definitely 3/31 or 4/1.
@ rocket. Didn’t you already submit your YALE SCEA? I’m confused by your should I bother with app verbiage. :-)

^^I kinda submitted the yale SCEA. My transcript and act scores went out. I just have completely commited to the common app just yet
probably will do so tomorrow

Are you still considering getting married to increase your FA…? :P

Uh, good chances at all. Yale and Brown are reaches, of course. And (as much as I hate to say it, because I’m also applying to Yale SCEA), you should apply SCEA. Think you have already, actually…
