so how do you register for classes? do you go line up and pick your classes?

Online. I registered this morning at 7:55 (my assigned time–1st slot, first day) online for summer term and next fall. I had discussed my course selections with advisors already and had to get permits for some of the classes. The one class I was most concerned about getting in had 55 seats–it was down to 28 by 8:10am.

HI, just been accepted as a transfer student and wondering if my orientation date (june 16) will affect what classes I will be able to sign up for?

j, Welcome to USF! You’ll be fine getting in classes; I am assuming you register for classes at orientation. USF opens more classes and seats for registration throughout summer in advance of new term. Read up in advance online what courses you need for your study track and keep an eye on available seats for different classes before going to orientation. Where are you transferring from, what’s your major, are you a jr, decided on housing or commuting? Best of luck and I wish you a lot of happiness at USF!

I’m trying to register for summer classes and i’m having a problem getting into any classes at all. I keep getting Registration Add errors, it’s really frustrating when my sign up date is supposed to me today…

^Hope you figured out everything by now getting registered. If not, double check on Oasis your scheduled registration appointment time and date, make sure you’re signing up for right session and campus, make sure you have met any prerequisite course requirements, check if you need a permit for any classes, make sure you are not overlapping classes at same time creating a conflict–different classes should be a minimum 15 minutes apart. If you can’t complete registration online-call USF for help. This afternoon most USF depts. were busy–last day of final exams and graduations tonight and tomorrow kept everyone busy. You might have to wait until Monday morning to get help.

I’m an incoming freshman, going in Summer B. Do I register for classes at orientation, or do I need to make an appointment and do it before?

^You don’t need to do anything as far as registration before orientation, just show up at orientation and you can discuss classes with an advisor.

That’s one thing I love about being a grad student, my advisor said he’ll get me into any class I want to take regardless of whether or not it’s full… Now if i could just get a GA job for the fall I’d be set.

I am already signed up for orientation but I noticed that I can already sign up for classes, I already know what classes to take so do I need to wait for orientation or can I go ahead?

If you can get in the system I don’t see why you can’t go ahead and register for classes. You can change them at orientation if you have to.
