<p>Applying but my personal statement was far from amazing. I couldn’t get myself to think. I stared at it for several days without writing a word and today I wrote it all last minute and I did not enjoy it. My short responses were slightly better, but I’m not very confident. Oh well.</p>

<p>My teacher recommendation though seems to be a problem. I reminded him several times and he assured me he’d get to it but it still says “Not Started” so I may very well have no shot at all. Meh.</p>

<p>Been lurking on these forums for a while now. Finally decided to join simply because I am applying and waiting in a group seems more convenient than just waiting on my own.</p>

<p>I’m feeling a little iffy on certain writing portions of the test. I submitted my third or fourth draft of my personal statement but I spent most of my time on that. And even then, the word limit kept me from being really happy with how it turned out. But oh well. Here’s hoping for the best.</p>

<p>Hi. When you say you were a prep and match finalist, do you mean you were awarded a prep scholarship? Isn’t it true there are no finalists in the prep scholarship competition?</p>

<p>I was a bit confused about the whole thing. So do they only choose one person per summer program or can more than one get into the same summer program?</p>

<p>It’s my understanding that the person gets offered the full ride to the program and then, that individual chooses from the list of summer programs.</p>

<p>What did everyone apply for? I applied for the conferences, the college visits, and the counseling. I was going to apply for the summer programs, but decided not too.</p>

<p>i applied for pretty much everything including the journalist “quest for excellence” thing. really, i just want the scholarship for a summer program. :confused: and a laptop would be nice…hah. i would be thrilled with anything at all, though.</p>

<p>all of this waiting makes me really nervous. i spend a lot of time on the personal statement and short essays but BSed the quest for excellent essays. I did not know that you can get an award for being a southerner!</p>

<p>Hey guys quick question- On the night that I turned in my app, and even now actually, when I click on the teacher rec, i get a document that has only my name and my teacher’s name filled in. The status says complete, however. Is the link that I clicked on just a printout for the teacher to use, or is it supposed to be filled out with everything?</p>
