Wowza! I just looked at pictures of the new Admissions Center: A Wake Forest welcome | News Center | Wake Forest University It's beautiful.

And that reminded me... Whatever happened to The Barn? I thought it was supposed to open after spring break. Is it almost ready?

:)

I heard that the basic skeleton of “The Barn” (stupid name, imo) is up, but it’s not finished yet…

I’ve driven past the admissions center and it looks way nicer (and bigger) than the old facility!

I just saw the new admissions center in person and it is AWESOME.

Well, the Barn is almost finished. [The Barn | Parents | Wake Forest University](The Barn - Parents & Families) Hmmm. I hope it’s better looking in person.

My son is skeptical about it. He says, despite being on campus, “it’s too far away.” I don’t get it. But, he lives there; I don’t.

I think I might walk by it when we’re there to move him in. I’m very curious.

We stopped in the new admissions bldg back in April when we were visiting S1 - beyond gorgeous - absolutely amazing. S1 says he was there for a film or lecture in the auditorium and also thought it was pretty incredible.

They are breaking ground on the new business bldg soon also - Farrell Hall. Which also looks to be amazing - too bad it won’t be completed until Fall 2013 - S1 will miss out on it.

I think it is always a good sign to see construction on a college campus - despite any issues of noise, construction parking woes, etc. - I see it as a sign of financial health, generous and committed alumni, etc.

Agreed with rockvillemom. I’m sad that Farrell Hall won’t be done soon. Very jealous that all you new kids will get to enjoy it :-P

For those of you who don’t want to read the whole article provided, an alum’s parents (the Farrells) donated a ton of money so that this building could be built.
