i just went to my common app account online, and i noticed that they changed my deadline for the Yale SCEA app. Is it a mistake, or could it be that they're giving me an extension cause i live in florida and didn't get power until yesterday cause of Wilma. It's crazy down here. 98% of south florida didnt have power on monday and we havent had school for a week. maybe that's why, or did everyone else's change too?

Hmm, says the same thing for me, though I'm not sure why they would choose to do that. A cursory glance at the website also didn't reveal any indication that they'd changed the date--wouldn't a change like that be pretty widely publicized?

Perhaps it's a commonapp.org glitch. Who knows?

Edit: Mine "says the same thing" as the original poster saw--11/15.

Mine says 11/15...

11/15 too...

mine also says 11/15! sweet mother of god, it would be amazing if this is an actual extension!

mine says it too. but on the application they REQUEST that early action candidates submit by october 15.

Has there been any formal saying that the new deadline is 11/15 on the yale website or any where else?

hmm not that I know of, but the common app definitely says 11/15. but I think until I see hard evidence from Yale, I'm still going to send by 11/1

oh man, this could be bad. i hope that they havent extended teh notification date (if it's true the application date is extended). i sent mine, but now i wish i could have it back so i could change things (post-sendin freakout, if you will)

check again guys. common app has changed it back to the first.

We are posting to this discussion thread and others that there is an error on the Common App site as of yesterday afternoon (10/28) with respect to Yale's SCEA deadline. The deadline is still November 1, and Yale's web site still says November 1, though in one place on the Common App site, a mistaken deadline appeared yesterday. The mistake apparently occurred due to an effort we are making to provide a time extension for Early Action applicants from the hurricane-affected areas of the Gulf Coast and Florida. Unfortunately, this effort on our part triggered a change -- without our knowledge -- to a date in Yale's information box pop-up on the Common App web site. If you are not being schooled in the affected areas, your Early Action deadline has not changed. It is still 11/1. We are attempting to have the Common App web site corrected today (10/29), and to put a clarifying notice about an extension for hurricane-affected areas as soon as possible on the front page of the Yale admissions Web site. If you are being schooled in the hurricane-affected areas, please check www.yale.edu/admit tomorrow morning (10/30) for an update.

Admissions Office, Yale University

I guess that's Jeff Brenzel, the new admissions dean. We should all feel special now.

now that's what I call personal attention! proof as well that admcoms patrol these boards.

Don't everyone try to suck up at once.

When I saw that I was like, "OMG! Yale adcoms come here!" Then I realized they probably don't read anything on here; they're just posting out of courtesy. Honestly, petty SAT concerns of Eli-wannabes would not be captivating reading.

OMG Jeffrey Benzel was here!!

don't be surprised if this is the only post that he makes.

It's so unfortunate that you guys have a 11/15 deadline while stanford has 11/1 deadline boo!!

yale's deadline is 11/1
