Hi, I'm having an audition at NEC this week, and I have not booked a hotel yet.
I was wondering to those who have gone already, is there any other hotels besides the one that school provides?
That one is called The Colonnade Hotel and it is way too expensive for me. (156 per night or something).

Can anyone help me asap!
Thank you.

$156 is cheap for Boston. The Colonnade is listed on cheap hotels sites for Boston.

Do you have AAA? That can help a little…

You can stay out of town and take the T in. For instance, the Best Western in Quincy starts at $89, possibly accessible by the red line. There might be something in Lynn on the MBTA commuter rail route.

You could try hostels. Google “hostels Boston” and at least 3 hostel organizations will pop up. Hostelling is very cheap and sometimes pleasant enough.

p.s. for us, the bigger issue was the cost of NEC and conservatories in general!

Last year, we stayed at the Midtown Hotel. It is the closest hotel to NEC and the cheapest (with an audition rate of $85). It is very basic with tiny bathrooms, but is clean and comfortable and safe. There were lots and lots of auditioners staying there. I would recommend it.

The Boston Park plaza hotel. I just checked their website and it lists a double room for $80.00. Hard to believe, but I think mid-week they run specials. It is about a 3-4 block block walk, straight down Huntington Ave and there are plenty of places to eat on the walk. I walk this route every week for fun while my D has rehearsal, its safe with plenty of people around.

yes bluepearl, i was surfing the web and i stumbled across midtown hotel(if that’s what its called) with a starting rate of $85.

Thank you everyone for the post.
