New England Hurricane?

We live midway between Providence and Boston, and right now the wind is blowing like crazy. Raining in bands, so far like a heavy rainstorm. Going to be picking up LOTS of branches, hopefully no big/damaging ones.

Friends on the RI shore just lost power.

Here in NW CT, it’s raining, and the wind is picking up. But we don’t expect as much wind since the storm moved east a bit.

But…it sure is wet!

I’m in the Hartford area. Rain is coming down fairly heavy but so far wind isn’t too bad. I’m trying to see these positive in things, so I’m just going to say this is a free car wash.

Just finished an off campus move in up in Providence RI. Left the house at 4am and got everything inside DS home before it got sloppy out.

Now lots of rain in wind. Happy to be done, dry and hopefully safe! We will drive home tomorrow.

Thankfully packed a bottle of bourbon. When up at 3am this now counts as an evening cocktail. Cheers Henri!!

We got a ton of rain in NJ overnight and into today. A lot of serious flooding across the center of the state. Sporadic power outages.

We spent the last couple hours walking in the rain with D and GD to watch the local stream rushing, throw sticks in, and splash in puddles. Big fun!

So far, this is a big rain event. Winds aren’t nearly as forecast. Actually, it’s just normal wind that happens when it rains.

I think I may have a new career, weather forecaster. I can just make crap up and watch everybody jump.

We are extremely happy with 1 of those 2 decisions.

Prepped for the storm on Nantucket (MA) and we got a little rain, gray skies, and high wind for a short time. We got lucky this time!

Looks like our area of CT hit the jackpot, though it wasn’t as bad as originally expected. We had rain “pouring” down the insides of our foundation in the basement, water in the yard was over our ankles, and our pool overflowed and needed siphoning. Some road closures in town, quite a few evacuations of homes in an adjacent town. Rain stopped during the worst of it, thankfully. More rain due today, hopefully not a problem. We estimate we had about 5" of rain.

Yikes! You sure did get the worst of it!

I didn’t go grocery shopping in case we lost power, so ventured out this morning in the light rain to stock up. No bread or milk to be found! I’d forgotten about how people in this area shop before any weather event!
