New finding in Morgan Harrington case

Saw this online today.....wow.

Pantera find: Shirt on 15th Street was Morgan Harrington’s | The Hook News Blog

I hope that with this finding, although a long time after her disappearance and death, the authorities can make some headway on this case. Is the article correct in saying that the apartments are 10 miles from the JPJ arena? Surely she was picked up by someone....and then who knows? Such a sad, tragic story.

Omg, I know that street. 15th and Grady is a major source off-Grounds housing. It’s near the Corner. People flock to that whole area every weekend. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from JPJ (well depending on how fast your legs can carry you) if you cut through Lambeth and Rugby.

I recently learnt (from an old picture in the mechanical engineering building) that a Professor Morse in the 1930s used to fly his airplane contraptions down near the farm where Morgan’s boy was found.

Town and University connect in uncanny ways.

The article actually states that the farm where Morgan was found is ten miles from the apartments.

I hope they are able to resolve this case for the Harringtons’ sake.

apartments are 10 miles from the farm. apartments are 1 mile from jpj: [Emmet St N & Massie Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903 to Grady Ave & 15th St NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903 - Google Maps](<a href=“Google Maps”>Google Maps)

I don’t get it…? the perp could be both a student and townie at the same time?

I’m sorry, I was listening to the story on the TV and got what they said mixed up with what I commented about the article…10+/- minutes walk to the apartments and 10 miles to the farm…

hazelorb, I looked at the link you shared, but couldn’t find the bridge where she was last seen. How far was that from the apartments? Is the bridge on the way there? I know her brother was a student there at UVA. I wonder, did he live at those apartments at some time and maybe she remembered someone who lived there that she was going to ask help from? I would hope this is a big break for the authorities.

I totally agree sabaray. I know her parents’ grief will never go away, but to find the monster that did this would have to bring some sense of relief to their family. God bless them.

KandK, here’s a link to a story that provides a map with all the points of interest:

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the article.

I think the police have known about the Pantera shirt for months but it might not have been in every media story about the case. I read about it in a C’ville Weekly article a long time ago.

The bridge is at the intersection of Ivy & Alderman Roads. To get to the farm from there, you’d make a right onto Ivy and then get on Route 29 South.

15th and Grady is in the other direction. You’d make a left onto Ivy and the go down University Avenue into the Rugby Road/Corner district.

Walking, of course, you can cut through Lambeth to get over there.

I agree with Flinty…I’m pretty sure the shirt has been mentioned before, along with a bracelet.

Hmmm…I hadn’t seen that before. If so, could it mean that they knew about the DNA being a match with hers earlier? I am no forensic scientist but seems like an awfully long time to take to match Morgan to the shirt. I wonder if bits and pieces of information like this one are being put out bc the police are getting an idea of what happened/who did it. Maybe the new info will cause the killer to a mistake due to his anxiety and get them closer to making an arrest. I truly hope so.

With the anniversary of the April 16 shooting being today and then this story resurfacing, it makes you really want to go and hug your kids a bit longer and tell them you love them even more.

Why hasn’t the killer fled the town? Too many connections? The perp is most likely a youth, and what connections can a youth have?

I suppose the police already have very specific suspects (who think they are safe) and they are not telling us…

With her shirt being found it certainly suggests a major struggle. In such a high traffic area it is hard to believe there are not more witnesses.
