i saw the new GER plan...i think every course at Emory will have some kind of tag next to it like "HSC" for history, society, and culture. does anyone know what courses will count for what, like does anyone have the pdf of the course listings or anything?

I actually use the course catalog that I got when I visited Emory. do you have it...cuz the list is quite lenghty...

i have a blue one. is this the same one u have? i have it, but it doesnt have the little tags next to each course. Like Johns Hopkins' course guide has little letters next to each course saying whether its a engineering science or natural science or something. I was wondering if there were any tags like this for Emory's new system...like, what exactly does a class like Psychology fall under haha?

I've been in contact with a few professors and administrators about this issue, and I'll tell you what I've gathered so far. The new GERs will not officially go into effect until fall of 2009, but our class will unofficially be under the new GER system. However, this means that the complete and finalized list of the "tagged" courses will not become available until fall of 2009. During this summer, professors and administrators are working on developing a rough draft of the tagged course list, and this will give entering freshmen a general idea of which classes will fulfill which requirements.

Think about it this way: every single course at Emory is going to be tagged. There are only about 4-5 categories into which a particular class can be tagged, so just think common-sensically ;) Math, Hard Science, Social Science, Humanities

thanks for the information guys
