New Grad in Applied Linguistics

Hi all,

Will be a new Bruin by Fall 2007, doing my PhD in the Applied Linguistics Department, a international student.

I think I have to do 32 credits over 2 years, but am feeling kinda overwhelmed by the number of choices I have, since I practically can take any graduates modules from Linguistics, Anthropology, Sociology, Applied Linguistics, Asian Language etc.

Anyone out there with good advice? ie. Good Professors and modules not made out to kill you.

Thanks in advance!!!

we don't really have many grad students over here. at all. i'd suggest posting on the lj community (community.livejournal.com/ucla) because there's a broader scope of readers over there who are more likely to have answers for you.

Isn't help in picking classes why you have an advisor?
