Any news on how 2014 grads are doing so far? From OCU, I know many are currently doing summer stock around the country. And 2 have recently been cast in national tours - one as Jimmy in "Nice Work If You Can Get It" and another as Emma Carew in "Jekyll and Hyde".

From James Madison University MT class of 2014 (it was a small graduating class this year)…

-- Carrie, The Musical at the Studio Theatre in Washington, DC, followed by performing on the Mamma Mia national tour
– just booked the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in NYC as a vocalist
– spending the year as a member of the resident acting company at Charleston Stage
– performing at Blue Gate Musicals through December
– just finished Thoroughly Modern Millie at Heritage Rep, and is moving to NYC in August
– performing at Hershey Park as a vocalist
– performing for a touring children’s theatre company this summer, followed by performing with another touring children’s theatre company in the winter

wow @KatMT, JMU grads are doing exciting things! congrats!!

I didn’t include summer stock in my previous post, but it is interesting to read about. Off the top of my head I know 2014 OCU grads are performing this summer at:

. The MUNY
. Music Theatre Wichita
. The Lyric
. Seagle Music Colony
. Taos Opera
. Trentino Music Festival - Italy
. Big Fork Summer Playhouse
. Crane River
. And more… Just don’t know all off the top of my head :)

I know one of this year’s OCU grads that just got a callback for The Voice.

Those are terrific theatres and program vvnstar!! It is great to see all of the great and varied “gigs” recent grad are getting. I am not sure if I will be able to, but I am hoping to get to Seagle. A couple of alums are working therE. Such a beautiful and wonderful place!

From University of Michigan (there may be more but this is what I know for sure)
• Summer Stock (The MUNY, Music Theatre Wichita, Wagon Wheel)
• Tours (Newsies, Jekyll and Hyde, Book of Mormon)
• Broadway (Cinderella, understudy for the Prince who is a 2012 graduate)

The 2014 class from Coastal Carolina are doing well! Summer work included Cortland Rep, Olgunquit Playhouse, The Prizery, Bigfork Playhouse, a theme park, and a feature film. One booked a 9 month gig at a dinner theatre, which started in August. Several have done new works readings and workshops in NYC. Two just booked regional theatre gigs, one for this fall and one for early spring. A couple are in callbacks for tours right now so maybe my next update will be adding a tour. Several have agents. Those who don’t have agents seem to be doing well in securing auditions and in getting callbacks. Mine is a combination of all of the above. She has two amazing non-performing jobs. I don’t say survival jobs because they are both in the industry and they provide much more than a way to earn money. They both pay well, and are supportive of her auditioning and taking time off when needed for a performing opportunity.
