Since schools like St. Paul's and PEA have their own threads, why not New Hampton! I haven't seen anyone talk about this school so far this admissions cycle and was wondering if anyone else was or is a current student there now.

Or if you don’t know what New Hampton is…

bump

My son attended New Hampton for a post graduate year. The academics are challenging (he takes AP and IB classes) but the great thing is that the classes are small and collaborative and I really can’t say enough about how great the teachers are, they are so enthusiastic and positive, that the learning atmosphere is stimulating. The general feel at the school from the President down is positive and uplifting. It is a real community, with families and lots to do on weekends. In regards to college support - my son had full support all the way through the process - weekly meetings with counselors and an open office policy, He was given great advice and eventually got accepted to Wesleyan University after receiving a number of acceptances to other schools. He worked hard, he met great friends, He said that he wished he could have gone all four years(but acknowledged that he probably wouldn’t have wanted to leave his high school) In regards to size - it is actually the perfect size, most of the empty space in between buildings is used for something either playing fields, general getting together and weekend events. If you want to go to a school that has great academics and a real community feeling go to New Hampton. Trying to think of a downside. Yes he says the food gets repetitive after a while.
